Overnight Guests

Q: What time is check in and check out?
A: Check in starts at 2:00pm. If you arrive earlier than 2:00, you may use the grounds but you can't check into your room until 2:00. Check out it at 11:00.

Q: What should I bring?
A: Wiawaka provides you with your linens and bath towels. If you are planning on using the dock and swimming area, you should bring your own beach towel. A small room fan is nice during the summer. Also, bring toiletries such as soap and hair products as these are not supplied by Wiawaka in order to keep costs low.

Q: What meals does Wiawaka provide me with as an overnight guest?
A: If you stay for one night, you will be provided with dinner and breakfast. If you stay for more than one night you will receive dinner on the night of your arrival, three meals a day for the duration of you stay, and breakfast on the day of your departure. If you would like to stay for lunch on the day of your departure, the charge is $10. Please notify the House Manager the night before if you intended to have lunch the day of your departure.

Q: At what time are meals served?
A: Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 9:00, lunch is served from 12:00 to 1:00, and dinner is served from 6:00 to 7:00.

Q: Wow! I'm so impressed by all of the fascinating workshops you offer; can I participate in more than one during the same day or visit?
A: You may participate in as many workshops as you would like provided that they are scheduled at the same time and there are spots available.

Q: I hear you're close to Lake George village. Does anything interesting go on there?
A: Plenty! Besides hosting a number of annual summer events such as the car show and Elvis weekend, the town also coordinates many free events and concerts, most of which take place in Shepard's Park. There are fireworks over the lake almost every Thursday and our dock offers a front row seat for this spectacle. The town also boasts a public beach and a strip of shops and restaurants filled with endless possibilities for exploration. Our bulletin board is maintained as a great source for area information and event announcements. Please visit the links page on our website for more area information.

Q: Could you describe the communal living that makes Wiawaka such a special place for a retreat and relaxation?
A: Life at Wiawaka is made beautiful by its simplicity. All of our guests and staff share a common dining room where you are bound to meet some interesting women. The screened-in porches and dock make great places to visit with friends, yet are equally useful for quiet reflection. We ask that you maintain your own room during your stay so that we may keep costs low, thereby affording many more women the opportunity to experience Wiawaka.

Q: Is it possible to volunteer some of my time while I am a guest at Wiawaka?
A: We welcome any and all volunteers as their help is essential to the success of Wiawaka. There are always things to do. Simply inform the house manager in Fuller how long and when you would like to help.

Day Use

Q: Can I use Wiawaka's facilities, such as the dock and the grounds for a day of relaxation or a place to meet with friends?
A: Why of course! There is a day use charge of $15. Please call ahead to let us know when you will be coming.

Q: Is breakfast, lunch, or dinner included in the Day Pass?
A: No, but you may purchase any meal if you let us know when calling for your day pass. Breakfast is $8, lunch is $10 and dinner is $12.

Q: I will be at Wiawaka on a Day Use pass. May I attend the workshops which Wiawaka is offering that day?
A: Some workshops have very limited space and thus are reserved only for overnight guests, and workshop placement priority is always given to overnight guests. However, if places are available, the workshops are open to day pass use. Although there is no additional fee for most workshops, contributions are greatly appreciated. Please call Wiawaka for information more specific to the workshop which you would like to attend.
